Re: JDM RA25 in Sydney, Australia [Pic Heavy]

So my car had it's first public appearance among the Toyota crowd last weekend at Sydney's "Classic Celica Appreciation Day" Here's a few photos: https://fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xfp1/t31.0-8/10298397_10154189713595484_8230764612197352435_o.jpg https://fbcdn-sphotos-b-a.ak...

Re: JDM RA25 in Sydney, Australia [Pic Heavy]

The rims are 'Bilbo Turugi' by Pasco-Fame Ltd from 1982. See here: http://kyushashoes.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/Pasco-Fame-Bilbo-Advertisem.jpg 250/150 will be great for a daily. I've found that 275/175 is a little too harsh over bumps, but my car will only be driven every few weeks, so I can p...

Re: JDM RA25 in Sydney, Australia [Pic Heavy]

I havent had a chance to attack any corners yet, so I can't comment on the balance, but as far as ride quality goes, I'd probably have preferred slightly softer on the front. 250/175 would be perfect for around town.
I think the 275/175 I have now will be quite good for spirited driving though.

Re: JDM RA25 in Sydney, Australia [Pic Heavy]

Finally feel like I'm making some progress. New T3 coilovers in the front, shortened camaro AGX's and black magic springs in the rear. Running 275/175 springs. NOS bumper installed and (temporary fibreglass) filler panel painted and fitted (although both need some tweaking) Carb issue sorted (diaphr...

Re: JDM RA25 in Sydney, Australia [Pic Heavy]

Yep, thats the plan. Going to use T3 coilovers up front and the Camaro/Black Magic setup in the rear so I can reverse things if need be. :2thumbs:

Re: JDM RA25 in Sydney, Australia [Pic Heavy]

Finally all rego'd up on Historic plates (I got the Ducati Mach 1 done at the same time) It still needs a tune, some brake pads and the chrome bumper mounted up but at least I can legally drive it to the mechanics etc now. I'm also going to put a set of T3 coilovers in the front and some lowered spr...

Re: JDM RA25 in Sydney, Australia [Pic Heavy]

Thanks :-) The bumpers were sourced in Japan on Yahoo Auctions. You can use a bidding & freight forwarding service such as Nengun to purchase items from Yahoo Auctions and they will forward everything to your address. I've used Nengun a bunch of times and they're always extremely helpful. :2thum...

New shoes already fitted up. Needs a bath though. https://fbcdn-sphotos...

Getting a wee bit excited. The ship docked and unloaded today. So it should be clear of customs in the next day or 2 :D

So would I, it made it easy to justify the purchase when I thought about it like that though :2thumbs:

Re: JDM RA25 in Sydney, Australia [Pic Heavy]

Sourced a brand new, never mounted front bar for my car, and the import approval came through from Australian Customs today so I'm a very happy chappy! https://fbcdn-sphotos-b-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/1380568_10153335614885484_841435570_n.jpg https://fbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.net/hp...

Re: JDM RA25 in Sydney, Australia [Pic Heavy]

Id rather not say. The initial purchase price was very good value when compared to the local cars on offer, but I've spent a lot post-purchase on getting the car right, fees, shipping etc. Bringing anything into Australia is not a cheap exercise. My Mach 1 above was an import from Canada and was aro...
