Re: 71 CELICA PROJECT
Nice Corona, and though the Celica looks rough I'm sure you will get her back to form. Looking forward to see the progress. Pete PS: Don't think those are Centerlines, I'm sure they are Simmons 3pc. Ask an Auzzie, they would be able to confirm. I just recognize them from pics of a nice blac...

Re: 77 liftback out of 20 year storage pics
If you don't have a local donor car, that you can cut the panel out of with an angle grinder & cutoff wheel or a sawzall. Then you are probably better of having the metal fabbed for you, at then you would know it is rust free.

Re: 71 CELICA PROJECT
I think those are Simmons wheels from Australia. The company recently closed as the owner is retiring and no one is taking over the business.

Re: 77 liftback out of 20 year storage pics
Welcome  So sad the rust is that bad around the windshields as the rest of the car looks in such great shape. :cry2: Not sure if anyone makes replacement panels for in front of the windshield, but you may find a donor car that has that piece in better shape. Otherwise if you can find someone g...

Re: Just bought my first Celica '77 - Denver
Welcome  Great project car :2thumbs: I've also been tempted by those cheapy 20R rebuild kits on eBay for my tired old engine. I haven't asked a mechanic buddy what he thinks as I'm trying to pickup a rebuilt 20/22R hybrid. If I can't then I'll be in the same boat as you. I pretty cautious in r...

Yes, please post some pics of those other cars, as that is quite the collection.
I used to own a Ford Capri as well, Mk1 or 2 not sure which, but 1974 (V6 2800cc - ???hp Modded engine),
I had it just after my first Celica.

Re: Hello 1GC! I just became a father......
i will look into the steering knuckle first thing tomorrow morning, and upload some pics. the wheels are 15x7 0 offset on 195/50/15. so i'll just have to adjust it, so it will minimize how far you can turn? Yes, but not by much, it is just meant to keep the tires from rubbing on the body, mostly on...

Re: Hello 1GC! I just became a father......
That may be an easy fix too, you may just need to adjust the steering stops. They are screw type bump stops on the steering knuckle arm that can be adjusted so it limits the maximum turn when it hits on the lower control arm. You may be getting more rubbing on one side than the other because they ar...

Wow, Grats :2thumbs: A nice clean looking car for sure. You mentioned the tires rubbing: i just picked up some konig rewinds 15x7 and threw them on, but my front tires are rubbing the fenders. i sort of rushed it, i didnt lower the front yet. i'm hoping once i lower her, the tires won't rub anymore....
