Hello there,
After many years of building ( long time) and driving( less long time) celica i will introduce myself on this forum.

I am living in the Netherlands and am a friend of south bronx, also here on the forum.. As he is building his TA23 / 5MGE , i am building my second serious project. . After finishing my TA23 with 5 MGE engine i needed a new project . My wife didnt like it not having control of the remote anymore and i became realy bored. This time i wanted a more challenging project. Its not just about the speed, its about building my own unique car the way i want it..

The car
Another friend of me had a TA23, waiting for restauration for many years but he decited to go for another brand, This became my car somewhere in 2011.

The donor
In the UK you can buy a lexus soarer for cheap. I bought 1 on ebay, a plane ticket to the UK, tested the engine and drove it home. Within a week the shell went to the breakersyard. I also sawed the complete section with the rear suspention out of it.

current state
The car and the shortened suspention are as we speak ready to get merried. It wil take some time. Before that i already made lots of adjustments for intercooler / ecu /big radiator / intercoolerpiping / engine brackets / gearbox bracket / other brackets made for replacing the battery, the ignition computer / coolant and wiper reservoirs etc etc.

When the rear suspention is in place i will open an seperate topic for it.

Keep you posted
Patrick

Hi faffi,

I was at the itt in gemert.
Man! Was it hot that day! In an open field without any shade anywhere! Pff..
I was there with my 1976 ta23.
I do not have this car anymore. It was too far gone. Sold it to a trader.
Rat look, flat black, all dented,no bumpers, lowered and black widened steelies.
Blew my waterpump on the way back home. And this was the first sign that this car was dying on me...

Grtzz,p..

Thnxs. Yes, i was on that meeting too.

Haha. I am curious about my new project too.
Was just expirimenting with the front hubs. Need to go to 5x 114.3
I have the hubs from a crown MS85. With 2 bushes i can compensatie the inner sizes of the bearing but with that hub the wheel comes out 11mm. Add the thickness of the disc wich comes over the hub and my frontwheel comes out 17 mm more than standard. .
Have to find a solution for it.
This is 1 of the many projects in the complete project.

So. Curious as we are...... Wait for the separate topic
