New OZ Guy

Post by V6TA22 »

Hi all another aussie Celica owner mine is powered by a V6 Lexcen engine known as a buick V6. As far as motor transport is concerened I own the only fully street legal V6 celica in Australia as they are not really engineerable here because of the litres per body weight. I have pics but are not able to post them up as i dont know how too

is that the silver one?
I know of a few cars that have been succesfully done (in the pst) and are still road worthy, there are several loopholes that have to be jumped through but you can still do it its just not worth it anymore.
How does it go? id imagine a factory charger, roller rockers, cams, piggy backed ecu ecotec heads and a decent exhaust would get it moving biggrin

and i think there is a sticky on posting pics somewhere on here.

There where no loop holes for me and as far as motor transport is informed there are no registered ones so would like to know where they are mine was silver and had a face lift in the shape of boydes billets and matt black paint the car is nearly all new as the person who built it was the boggyman himself.......And yes there will be a superchargers an microtech fitted to it soon as the bottum end is shagged so no need for a faster street car then just a blower and fresh bottum end and microtech as i get to drive a 10 second escort and also have a TF V8 cortina in the shed......

Cars have been done pre power to weight rule change, once the car becomes unreparable due to various resons you arn't allowd to reshell with that engine and mod plate, so the cars are now gone would be my guess, as this was a while ago.
Im pretty sure there is a section on the RTA web site about putting larger engines than allowed under the power to weight rule.
Rebuild the motor? wouldn't you just buy a running one for like $200 and start with that, to save yourself the hastles of a shagged motor?

If you have access to the tools go aead, i was thinking more along the ines of having to get the crank cleaned up, ballanced and have the bearing tolerances redone for someone doing it DIY it pays to just start woth a good motor (my fist 2TG was a good exampe of how no to do it)
What engine do you have at the moment?

sorry mate wasnt sure if they are series 1, 2 or ecotec, im pretty sure you can use ecotec heads which flow better and are more efficient overall, when i had a commodore i installed a cam and rockers, make sure if you buy new rockers to get actual roller rockers as the cheap ones i had were $#!+.

EDIT: engine bay pics?
