Well One day, I was driving into work, I worked the Mid night on Base and it was raining, I had the family car and was coming down this hill towards a blinking Yellow Light (Caution)(My Right of way) which did not concern the drunk Gentlemen who flew thru his blinking red light. I locked up the brakes and skidded down the hill when I saw that he was not going to stop for that blinking red light. I hit him over his back axle.

The police arrived and when he was questioned the officer suddenly stepped back away from the gentleman and bowed to him and waved him on. His car was not as bad as mine, he could still roll, with his rear fender rubbing his tire. He stopped, walked to that tire and grabbed that fender and pulled it away from his wheel and drove on.

The officer then came to me and said no fault handed me a short report for my insurance and drove away. The car still drove so I continued towards the base to report to work. I then scrapped the car after a check was issued from the insurance company which I did not expect since the officer stated No fault. I was told later as I took the check that he was a very important man with missing parts of his fingers...

Well, almost time to get back into my builds.

This summer at this new home proved to me that working on a car outside or within a garage in Georgia should be only performed from Fall -Winter- Spring, because it is too Darn Hot outside during the late morning and all afternoon.

Had to get use to the gnats, which you never get use to flying in your eyes, ears and up ones nose. Sometime your breathing gnats late in the evening. I'm gonna fix that here soon and install the biggest bug zapper that I can find on both sides of the garage. maybe one under the car port.

So I have been hiding from the sunshine all summer, only showing my face outside to mow the grass, pay bills, bring in the mail and food supplies. Yeah it sounds boring but it did give me some extra time to answer a few questions this summer and point or direct folks towards part sources. I hope that has helped out a few folks toward some great builds, which I have read about all summer.

Keep up the great work, you guys have accomplished some amazing progress.

I'm trying to find a machinist like the group that I use to visit in Southern California, Wayne's in Riverside or the Inland Empire. I'm almost tempted to start shipping stuff that I need completed across country just to get the quality and attention to detail.

I know there has to be great machine shops in Georgia, but finding that few that specialize in JDM is difficult here on the east coast. If you know of a great machine shop around here, once again the best kept secret in the south, prove me wrong and send me towards someone who can do better than a standard rebuild, with a bit of imagination. It gets old hearing, what is that off of, or I've never worked on one of these before.. I think i'm gonna have to study those specifications and I believe (as their eye twinkle) this is gonna be expensive...

I guess I better start looking in Florida, since that is where all of those world record 4 cylinders seem to be showing up. (Mostly rotaries dominate Florida)

Thanks for listening to some old guy ramble, again great builds out there, keep it up and hopefully we will all show up at an event...

Drew, you've been a Godsend with your wealth of knowledge especially with my 3TG bulld!
I'm so grateful! My build is stalled, just waiting on the Timing chain kit then it should start rolling.

Can't wait to see your build/builds!

Once upon a time, I was ready to get out there and run..

Then 2009 came along and found myself unemployed and began selling off all of my extra parts to keep a roof over my head in California...Sad Days. So I'm taking my time to get it together and build it right this next time. Now that I;m retired I can take a bit of time to get it right, but not take it for granted that I have forever to get these build done. Saddest day was selling the majority of my side drafts and rare carburetor setups. Gone!! sold the majority on this forum and 3TC forum...2009, was not my favorite year... :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
