New member, long time celica owner.

Post by Gamb »

Hi there, I'm new to the board but I've had my celica for a long while. Since I was 17, actually. :P
It was my first car and I paid $450 for it. I've owned quite a few cars over the years, but this is the only one I've hung on to.
I've been slowly modifying it as things break. List of mods include:
Holley 350cfm 2bbl Carb
Holley Dominator Intake Manifold
Throttle cable conversion (Spectre + 4runner + Home Depot parts)
MSD Ignition
Carter P60504 electric fuel pump
Tokico Blues (HZ3014, HE2572)
More to come soon. That stock exhaust needs to go bai-bai.

Please excuse the mess in the engine bay. I just installed the carb and still need to remove the vacuum pump. :lol2:

I have a complete 22rte/r150 ready to go in once the 20r kicks the bucket. wink

Although I'm debating leaving this thing an NA and making a 20r/22r hybrid.

The celica's been on the back burner behind other projects, but I'm ready to get serious about 'er now. :shades:

That was my original plan once the tired ol' work horse of the stock aisan carburetor decided to kick the bucket.
So I bought a turbo truck for a few hundred bucks, and pulled the engine expecting to do a headgasket swap and saw this :lol2::

But on the plus side, the CT20 is in good shape! confused

When I measured it looked like it was going to be a VERY tight fit. OH well, scrap that idea. I guess it's going in my truck. :woot:

you can easily get it to fit with an aftermarket top mount turbo manifold. thats what i did. i also had to remove the brake booster and switch to an ae86 brake master cylinder to adapt a brake booster delete. gave me an extra 2.5inches to work with. just an idea for you

That's possilbe. Or a casting defect.

IT's difficult to tell from the picture but it's about half an inch deep.
