71 CELICA PROJECT

HI MY NAME IS ED HERE IS MY 71 CELICA PROJECT THAT I PURCHASED FROM A MEMBER OF THIS FORUM. I GOT THIS CAR AND IT HAD ABOUT 4 GALLONS OF BONDO ON THE WHOLE CAR FRONT TO BACK ON MOLDINGS. YOU NAME IT , IT HAD BONDO ON IT AND PRETTY BLASTED INTERIOR BUT I REALLY LOVE THESE CARS.
71 ST
GOT 20R MOTOR
5 SPEED BUT 5TH GEAR DONT WORK
SOME KIND OF LOWERING SPRINGS
FRONT STEERING LINKAGE HAD ALL BEEN REPLACED
FULL EXHAUST WITH A CHERRY BOMB MUFFLER
QUATER WINDOWS ALL JACKED UP WOULD NOT GO UP OR DOWN JUST FLOPPY
NO BRAKES AT ALL
MISSSIN A BUNCH OR RANDOM PARTS
NO RUST WHICH IS NICE
GOT SOME DENTS THO
NO FRONT BUMPER
IVE COME TO REALIZE WHAT PARTS ARE EXPENSIVE FOR THESE CARS (ALL OF THEM)
GOOD PROJECT BASE THO

SO FAR IVE FIXED QUATER WINDOWS NEW BUSHING ROLLERS AND CRANK MECHANISMS
ITS GOT REALLY GOOD BRAKES NOW NEW BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER, IN REAR NEW WHEEL CYLINDERS IN FRONT NEW RUBBER LINES
GROUND OUT ALL BONDO DOWN TO BARE METAL
BETTER DRIVER DOOR
SWEET WHEELS
ENGINE BAY HARNESS HAD TO BE REMOVED AND UNWRAPPED BECAUSE IT WAS OF BRAKE FLUID AND VOLTS GAUGE WIRE WAS MELTED
AND A LOT MORE TRACKING DOWN OF PARTS



BUT THIS PROJECT HAS BEEN PUT ON HOLD DUE TO THIS CAR I GOT BOUT A WEEK AGO:

ITS A 71 CORONA MARK 2
CLEAN BODY
18R-U MOTOR
AUTO TRANNY
WORKING AC
PRETTY MUCH EVERYTHING WORKS ON IT AND AM CURRENTLY DRIVING

I think those are Simmons wheels from Australia. The company recently closed as the owner is retiring and no one is taking over the business.

They kinda look like the older style centerlines.

Nice Corona, and though the Celica looks rough I'm sure you will get her back to form.

PS: Don't think those are Centerlines, I'm sure they are Simmons 3pc. Ask an Auzzie, they would be able to confirm. I just recognize them from pics of a nice black one from Auz, owned by Simon, he was on one of their clubs over there.

i think they are simmons the guy i got em from didnt know and was no distinguishing labels on em they had some wierd caps on so i took em off looks better
i havent seen any like em around where im. at fitment on em is good
