Soon to be new owner of not so new car!

Post by smartin »

My uncle is selling me his '74 Celica ST. He is the original owner, and is looking for someone in the family to take it from him. His son's passed and I was next on his list. 142,000 miles, yellow, nearly all original. He is actually going to do some fixing before he delivers it in a couple weeks.

I am looking forward to getting it and tinkering a bit. I don't have any digital pictures yet, but will post when I take delivery.

So, that's my story and I am sticking to it.

Ya, the first order of business will be to investigate the rust and get the fenders fixed up. I think the rust on the fenders is the worst of it, but I haven't seen the car in a decade...

Is that fender spot a common rust area on these cars?

1st - Welcome

2nd - Yes that is 1 of the typical spots for rust on these cars (Lower Front Fenders / Rocker Panels / Floorpan / among others)

3rd - That is still a very nice clean looking car. Grats :2thumbs: Bet you can't wait to get it home and take it for a drive.
