Howdy, Raffaelli here...

Post by Raffaelli »

Hey everyone,

First off, let me say what a cool place you guys got here.

Im Oliver Raffaelli, and I just picked up my first celica. A 77 GT coupe, 20R W50. Not exactly my first toyota tho. If it looks familiar, its B.Y.E.s old car. I intend to finish the body work, swap engines with my truck, and drive a classic yota as a daily. My 94 GT mustang just isnt...cool enough... I guess. And my truck beats me to death on any trip over 50 miles

My trucks a 82 longbed pickup 2wd. 22R hybrid with lotsa porting, Doug Thorly tri-Y's, comp 280 cam, light flywheel, 84+ suspension swap and the only one in the world LS400 front brakes. Big sway bar, drop spindles, sway a ways, blocks. (its a work in progress, and im learning bodywork on it, so be nice  )

I sent my Celica to hell,

It will be waiting for me...

There is only "ONE" purpose here - TO AWAKEN. To Be AWARE! NOTHING ELSE MATTERS. FEAR is FORCE. KNOWLEDGE is POWER. BUT... WISDOM IS INFINITE

Great find! And welcome to 1GC!

As for the wheels, do you have a closer picture of them. I have seen a beat up AE86 rocking a set of those. I'm thinking it may be either bad info, or just a badge that was stuck on them, because that center cap design is pretty much exclusively an OEM Toyota thing. And all the cars that bared the Shelby name were all 5 lug wheels, including all the Shelby Dodge crap boxes that were made. In the late 70's early 80's there was also a string of dealer installed Catalog wheels made by Carol Shelby for the 240Z's and Saab's. There is no reason to believe that he couldn't have made some for Toyota, but like I said, that particular center cap shape I have seen only on OEM Toyota wheels. All the wheels made by Shelby will have the name Shelby cast somewhere into the wheel, if you can find that then it's definitely a Shelby wheel, and it's more than likely one of those less ordered Catalog wheels.
