You need to mow your back yard !

WOW - What a terrific original Celica !!!!!

Mags are period correct & may've been delivered to the customer by the Auto dealer...

But, seriously... The TOYOTA emblem on the front grill should not be there !

If there is some form of "original" mounting points it may well be an European "thing" but 9 years of Celic-aring says it's wrong :nonono:

Amongst all of us on here I'm sure we can sort out any probs you may have - Cheers Gordon

Only nine years?...I spent ten year in Japan several years in my youth...lol

In japan back then the grill was modified to show individual spirit so the original look was for the purist. Ease up on the guys who run his own style. Its not your car...

 ----> The "TOYOTA" stand alone emblem was not widely used until the RA-40....

All I was saying is that the use of the TOYOTA emblem is not "original" - Fine by me but if he needs help in sourcing ORIGINAL

badging, all he has to do is to ask "us' guys here on 1stgen - Simple as that :2thumbs:

I have to admit, the TOYOTA name tag at the center should not be original. I have bought this way, and I have never suspected. Now I made a little internet search, and the closest I found was an RA40 model with TOYOTA name tag on the front grill, but not at the center. On the TA22 model only GT or GTV was put to the center, ST or LT off center, sometimes the 'dragon' off center, but never TOYOTA. Here is an image from the '74 European brochure.

Hmmmm. Let's hope that this is the least original part of my car. :P
Well, I suspect that seat belts with General Motors logo are also not original.
And an (anyway very old fashioned) Blaupunkt radio is also suspicious. confused

If you want to get the car back to original 'specs' just ask any of us here !

Between 1stgen & all our combined resources & contacts it's not really that difficult a job

Hello AntalBalog,

Nice TA22! I have exactly the same Celica; European TA22 LT, '75, same square shape wheel arches, same colour (as your 1st picture in this topic, code 679?), same small louvres on the bonnet, same rear louvres with square shape (only tan interior).

The original grill has the horizontal lines (as you have), with 1 horizontal stainless strip and LT badge to the left. So like the bottom picture in the brochure.

Thanks for the post, fellow European.
I am really envy for the tan interior. I believe green cars came with tan interior that time, at least in the 1974 European brochure. However, as I learned, mine was a white car once with black interior, and was repainted as green in 1998, after a minor accident. I am not sure if it was done with authentic Toyota paint. I will check if cc679 looks like mine.
By the way, do you have pictures of your car posted here or somewhere?
